In 1970, Victory Baptist Church located at 515 Sherwood Avenue in Sherwood, Arkansas had a vision to create a solid Christian educational school system to provide education God's way. Out of that vision, Victory Baptist School was born. Over the years, Victory Baptist school has emerged as a leader in private Christian education to the central Arkansas community. To this day, Victory Baptist School seeks to challenge our students to be thinkers with a solid Christian foundation to stand on.Our school is built on a four-fold partnership with the school, home, church and community to instill the values necessary for a successful life. Starting in preschool, our expectations are high and our students consistently test beyond their current educational level. The environment of Victory Baptist School is one of order and structure to ensure teaching and learning takes place. This is a place where faculty, students and parents work hand in hand as one team. While parents are not required to be members of Victory Baptist Church, all are required to be willing for their children to be exposed to Bible-centered teaching that could bring them to a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This teaching should also result in the spiritual growth of that child.

Dear Parents,Today we got to recognize all of our students who have had perfect attendance, straight A’s or all A’s and B’s. I am very proud of everyone for working so hard during the second nine weeks!At this time of year our classes begin working on their Knowledge Fair projects. For those of you who are new to our school, the Knowledge Fair is a yearly event where each class chooses a focus area, then works very hard on learning and creating projects about the various aspects of that focus area. Then the whole school is open for you to visit all of the classrooms to see what they have worked so hard on. It is always exciting to find out what each class will be focusing on and then it’s even more exciting to see all of the finished projects at the end of February. Please keep your eyes open for letters coming home from your child’s teacher with updates about anything your child may need in the coming weeks leading up to this fun, school-wide event.Don’'t forget we will be out of school next Monday for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. UNIFORM POLICY
Uniforms can be purchased at a number of stores. Some of these are, The Toggery, Wal-Mart, Target, JC Penney, Dillards, Old Navy, School Days Discount Uniforms and FrenchToast .comFridays are designated as “School Spirit Days.” Plain blue jeans may be worn with appropriate shirts/sweatshirts with school logos.All students will be required to have at least one red shirt and a pair of dark khaki trousers. These particular items are required for special programs and field trips. A red Victory Baptist School t-shirt may be required for some field trips.I. Uniform Pants or Knee Shorts (Boys/Girls)Flat Front or PleatedDark Blue or Dark Khaki II. Polo Shirts – Short or Long SleeveRed, Navy, White, Light Blue, Light Yellow, Light Pink and Hunter Green with 2, or 3 buttons & No Logos (Pique Material) Shirts must be long enough to be tucked in.III. Jumpers – Girls (optional)Dark Blue Solid, Dark Khaki, or Red & Blue Plaid (These can only be purchased at The Toggery or School Days Discount Uniforms) IV. Blouse – Girls w/Peter Pan Collar White or Lt. Blue Polo Shirts may also be worn with jumpers.V. Activities VBSS ACTIVITIESOur next VBSS meeting will be on November 8thFAMILY NIGHTSWe will be organizing VBS Restaurant Nights again this year. We will need volunteers to help with these when they are scheduled.FUNDRAISERSOur annual fall fundraiser will start on September 28. We will be selling the frozen cookie dough, pumpkin rolls, and other items as we did last year. More information about this will be going home with the children soon. YEARBOOKMicha Pace will be putting the yearbook together this year. She asked all parents to share any pictures they take of class activities; she will send home instructions on how to do this soon. The goal is to get three pictures of each student in the yearbook. Also, if anyone would like to volunteer to do one or two pages of the yearbook, Micha would love the help! The deadline for the yearbook to be finished is Spring Break. We will be selling ads for the yearbook--ads businesses can buy and personal ads parents for students. BOXTOPS AND LABELSWe will be collecting Box Tops, Campbell’s soup labels and Tyson labels again this year. Please save these from your groceries and send them to school with your children. We earn money/products from the manufacturers with these.

Dear ParentsWelcome to the 2011-2012 school year! With the new year comes a new opportunity to earn money for our school! We are participating in 3 programs throughout this school year. Each provides a different beneﬁfit for the school and our children. Box Top for Education, Campbell's Soup Labels for Education, and Tyson Project A+ program.You will ﬁfind Box Tops coupons on hundreds of products you are probably already purchasing such as Pillsbury, Ziploc, Huggies, and Hefty brands. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents for our school. Simply clip the Box Top and send it in to your child's teacher and our earnings will quickly grow! You can ﬁfind the Campbell's Labels for Education on most any Campbell's, Swanson, or Pepperidge Farm product. Just simply clip, save, and send in to your child's teacher. Tyson's Project A+ labels are just as easy. They are on boxes and bags of most of their chicken products. Just clip, save and send.There's something fun in it for the students... we are going to reward the class that brings in the most Box Tops, Campbell's Labels and Tyson Project A+ each nine weeks with a pizza party or ice cream party! So get those grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, co-workers, and anyone else you can to helpcontribute to your child's class winning a pizza party!!!The pizza party isn't the only chance to win!!! Before sending in the labels separate and place 10 Box Tops, Campbell's Labels, or Tyson Project A+ labels in a baggie with your child's name written on the bag. At the end of each nine weeks for each bag of ten, your child's name will go into a drawing to win a uniform free day. We will draw names from that nine weeks and choose ﬁve. The 5 children whose names are drawn will win a uniform free day!!! Increase your child's chances by collecting as many labels as possible.I'll be sending out more information throughout the year to keep our collection efforts going. CHILD CARE
Extended child care is available for the Victory Baptist School parents who already have children enrolled in 3K-6th grades. Extended care opens at 6:45 am to 7:45 am and is from 2:50 pm to 6 pm. The service is offered at a cost of $2.25 per hour. Parents who pick up thier child/children up after 6 pm will be charged an additional $5.00 per 15 minutes.
